The Alberta Learning and Technology Policy Framework, Policy direction #3 requires teachers "to maintain and apply the knowledge, skills and attributes that enable them to use technology effectively, efficiently and innovatively in support of learning and teaching" (Learning and Technology Policy Framework 2013, p.27 ). Some of this knowledge and skills that teachers must have in Alberta schools include the use of Interactive White Board.  This also means that, the teacher must be able to use Smart Board and Smart Notebook software to create interactive activities for students. 

 

The following video is an example of an interactive white board. It shows some of the activities that can be created using Smart Board and Smart Notebook software. The concept explained on the video is "social media", and it is intended for "Media Studies Grade 9".
